Earlier this week, they thought about all of the information they had read about, heard, and saw, and created a project to demonstrate some of that new knowledge. Here are some pictures of some of those projects.
Some of the children created suitcases for the Pilgrims'journey. They put a lot of thought into what would go inside the suitcase, taking into consideration the most basic needs of the Pilgrims. Some of the most common items they included were food, clothing, tools, and a bible.
Other children created clothing that they thought Pilgrims and Wampanoag people may have worn. They were very thoughtful of their choice of colors, style, and decoration.
Other children created menus of what food was eaten in each culture.
Some children created a map of the Pilgrims journey, as well as a diagram of the Mayflower.
Some built Pilgrim houses,
as well as wetus.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this engaging project, and are prepared to learn more about these two cultures, and their impact on us today.
