Text features

We are currently writing information texts during Writer's Workshop.  We have also been reading a lot of non-fiction texts as we determine importance in Reader's Workshop.   We have learned a lot about text features, and how they help a reader understand a text.  As such, the children have been asked to collect pictures to put into their own texts.  They may print them off the Internet, cut them out of magazines, or create neat pictures themselves.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this assignment.
